I was asked to create a robot sidekick using the Modeler
software. At the end of this project looking back on it all I think I went well
and well enough for me to be able to meet the aim of the project.
The first thing I had to do was generate ideas for what my
robot would look like and act like, to solve what It would act like I created a
brainstorm with loads of little details about what my robot could do and what
it used to kill, but the main attribute of my sidekick was that it had to be
stealthy so this generated 3 ideas, the 3 ideas where a wolf, a crow and a
human shaped robot. In the end I decided to use the human idea as it would be
the easiest to create and easy for me to draw.
After generating the ideas of what my robot would act like I started
to think of ideas on how my robot would look this took a while which resulted
in less time for me to model my sidekick. My drawing ended up looking like a
robotic human so I was happy and stuck to what I had drawn. My drawing skill
worked well with this project but they could do with improvement. This slowed
me down when it came to modelling as I wasn’t prepared to go straight onto
making my robot sidekick as I didn’t have the reference image ready when i completed my tutorials of using the Modeler software.
When I was using the Modeler software I did okay with as I had
been using a lot lately and doing so my skills improved and confidence as well
there were a few struggles with tools I hadn’t used before, but I adapted to
them quickly and learned how to use them in the appropriate way.
When it came to time management I didn’t do well as I struggle
with handling my time well and don’t work relatively fast enough to make it
better. With this project I did all of my work in class which I shouldn’t have
done as I am behind on work and it would have been faster had I worked outside
of class or at home.
In the future I will have to work on my time management as it
is one of my biggest weaknesses and really doesn't help me with my work.
